  • Common Management System
The mission of the CSU's administrative functions is to provide efficient, effective, high quality service to students, faculty, and staff. This mission will be accomplished in part through the achievement of the "target administrative environment" by the year 2007.  The Common Management System (CMS) project began in 1998. PeopleSoft was selected to provide an integrated software solution. By early 1999 a preliminary project plan was completed based on a sequential implementation of the Human Resource software first, followed by Finance and finally Student Administration. The plan included implementing the 23 campuses in waves with eleven of the campuses self-selecting to become the 1st wave.  Central prototyping efforts were completed at the Chancellors Office to develop the CSU baseline software. The baseline includes select table setup data, and customizations developed by the SOSS (Software Operating Support System) group located at the Chancellors Office.  Cal State San Bernardino was part of the first wave campuses.  The campus went live on Human Resources and Financials in April 2001.  An upgrade of Human Resources was completed October 2002.  The Finance 8.4 upgrade began in November 2003 and was completed October 2004.  The Student Administration project is targeted for completion in April 2007.

  • DARwin
DARwin is the client/server version of the Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS). It contains a very powerful transfer course articulation component that can report articulated courses by institution with summary GPA information. Additionally, DARwin can include references to another institutions courses which are equivalent to courses still needed to complete requirements. DARwin provides a dynamic and concise report, viewed in hard copy, on line and over the web, that is used in advising as well as for final certification. It is a complete support system for the DARS program operating in a UNIX or NT server environment. DARwin information is maintained in a relational database by a Windows-based application. Audits requests are made through the client application. Project was completed in December 2004.
