Administrative Computing Services
(ACS) is managed by Charlie Tabbut and is a department of Information
Resources and Technology (IRT). ACS develops, provides support for, and
manages various campus enterprise software applications on a variety of
hardware platforms.
The campus IBM enterprise server (9672 - OS/390)
provides access to applications such as the Student Information System
(SIS+), the Student Aid Management System (SAM), and the Degree Audit Record System
(DARS). A Unix based voice response system (TRACS)
interfaces with the student registration module, student grade module, and
financial aid module on the campus enterprise server to provide
students direct telephonic access to their records.
Client/Server applications supported include the new
Advancement system, and PeopleSoft Human Resources and Financials. A relational database (RDBMS) under
Oracle provides departments access to financial records, purchasing
records and position management information at their desk top. In
addition, a variety of data extracts are provided to university
departments in support of other applications such as the Health Center,
Enrollment Services, and Institutional Research. ACS serves the
entire campus community of students, faculty, staff and administrators.
